Patrick's Promise Giving Back
The Foundation is proud to say we have contributed to and/or promoted causes close to Patrick's heart:
Let's continue to inspire!!
Let's be a great neighbor!!
Continuing to inspire with Travis Roy & supporting a neighbor!
In the spirit of inspiration... Patrick's Promise has sponsored two more Travis Roy speaking series. We had such positive feedback in 2017 we jumped at a chance to fund more in 2018. Travis reaches out to his audience to offer tools such as setting immediate and future goals for ourselves. He gently reminds us all that circumstances change so we must be flexible in adjusting our goals. He lays out strategies such as seeking out family, friends and dependable others for support when coping with difficulties no matter how large or small. He inspires his audience showing us how adversity can be overcome. Travis is no stranger to feeling alone and he softly reminds, us from where he is sitting, take a chance to reach out to those that may be different.
(Funding for 2018 2-Series $4,000)
In the spirit of good nutrition...Patrick took pride in his health. He focused on good nutrition always ready to share a recipe or two with his family. Lead by his example, Patrick's Promise reached out to A Place To Turn; a local food and clothing bank here in Natick Massachusetts. We were able to speak with the executive director to see where we could help most. A Place To Turn has been trying to focus on good nutritional habits for its customers offering fresh produce as well as refrigerated items such as eggs, milk, yogurt and the like. We decided to donated only organic food and products as well as special diet foods, such as gluten free, to help them with healthy customer choices. When we went to deliver the food, they gave us a tour of their "grocery store". They are extremely proud of their display and organization to make shopping for those in need a pleasant experience. We saw that they had just started a gluten free section as well!
We along with A Place To Turn recognize economic hardship can happen right here in our neighborhood. These wonderful food banks rely on a generous community. Patrick's Promise intends to be part of that community.
